Kiwigrid named B2B energy innovator of the year at CHARGE Awards

Reykjavik, 20.10.2022: Kiwigrid has won in the B2B Innovator of the Year category at the CHARGE Energy Branding Awards 2022, held on October 17-18. With the award, the jury recognized Kiwigrid's "unique example of aligning industry 4.0 with the goal of sustainable provision of energy". The CHARGE Energy Branding Awards are among the most important strategy and brand awards in the energy industry in Europe. Every year in Reykjavik, the jury honors the best brands and players in the global energy market.

Branding and marketing are more important than ever in the energy sector. The marketing of energy is also gaining importance for other industries because consumers are becoming increasingly aware of how much energy certain manufacturing processes require, especially in the wake of the on-going energy crisis. CHARGE organizes events around the world, bringing together leading companies such as Volkswagen, Enel or E.ON and forward-looking strategy and marketing experts. The CHARGE Awards recognize companies that have taken a leadership role in shaping the energy transition, customer experience and grid digitalization over the past twelve months. Previous winners of the awards include OVO Energy, Zeigo, Next Kraftwerke, Statkraft and IEA.

The jury explained the reason for awarding Kiwigrid in the category "B2B Innovator of the Year" at the award ceremony as follows:

"Kiwigrid is a unique example of aligning industry 4.0 with the goal of sustainable provision of energy to well defined segments. Moreover, it has developed big data analytics for decision making and benefitting its customers. Kiwigrid utilizes its pioneering status in the industry to create a distinctive brand promise and strives for continuous improvement in all the phases of energy."

The first place award is a recognition of Kiwigrid's focused strategic direction and its execution in terms of brand, product and technology. Kiwigrid's CEO, Frank Schlichting, comments,

"We are incredibly proud to have been awarded B2B Innovator of the Year in the energy sector. We are convinced that sector coupling and manufacturer-independent device networking are the keys to a successful energy transition – and that is exactly what we are developing the right operating system for. The award reinforces our belief that we are on the right track and that the intensive work we have done on our strategy and products over the past few years is successfully reflected in our brand."

In total, 130 companies were nominated in the Charge Energy Branding Awards in the categories of “World's Best Green Brand”, “World's Best Challenger Brand”, “World's Best Hydrogen Brand”, “Energy Advocates of the Year” and “B2B Innovators of the Year”. A combination of empirical measurements, independent qualitative analysis and scientifically verified benchmarking formulas were used to select the winners.
