E-World 2018: Kiwigrid partners present their IoT solutions and business models

  • Presentations by innogy, enviaM, Lechwerke, SOLARWATT and SHARP
  • Panel discussions with Martin Herrmann (COO, innogy), Dr. Andreas Auerbach (CSO enviaM),  Peter Zayer (FNN/ Managing Director Voltaris), Paul-Vincent Abs (Managing Director E. ON Metering) and others.
  • Possible integration scenarios of Kiwigrid's Energy IoT Platform with existing IT systems will be presented

The solutions developed together with customers are the focus of Kiwigrid's booth at this year's E-world in Essen. "Our partners innogy, the enviaM Group, Lechwerke, SOLARWATT and SHARP will be presenting their products and business models which they are developing or already marketing with us," says Matthias Hertel, Managing Director of Kiwigrid. High-ranking representatives of the energy sector will take part in two panel discussions at the Kiwigrid booth.

Between the presentations and panel discussions, visitors can learn more about Kiwigrid's solutions including demonstrations of applications. These include, for example, the SOLARWATT EnergyManager Portal, bit. B from innogy, the energy manager and virtual storage from the enviaM Group, Smart Chap from SHARP and a software solution for EEG and CHP plant operators from envia Therm.

"The range of products shows the versatility and openness of our platform. We are currently experiencing the greatest market dynamics with electricity retailers, automotive manufacturers and providers of PV and storage systems," reports Tim Ulbricht, Managing Director responsible for products and sales at Kiwigrid GmbH. We expect a surge in demand this year, especially in the field of electromobility, and further progress in convergence with the heating sector," Ulbricht continued.

An important topic for Kiwigrid partners is the flexibility of the platform and its secure integration with the existing IT landscape: "On the one hand, our platform can be integrated in the existing systems of a company in every way possible. We have already implemented various models with customers. On the other hand, we enable our partners to develop their own applications on our platform. Standardized interfaces, a cloud with the capability to support multiple clients and an open architecture make this possible," explains Matthias Hertel. Kiwigrid will present various scenarios for system integration.

The panel discussion on Tuesday revolves around the question of how the Internet of Things and sector convergence are changing the energy industry's value creation. Martin Herrmann, Chief Operating Officer Retail of innogy SE, Dr. Andreas Auerbach, Member of the Executive Board of enviaM AG, and Jochen Schneider, Executive VP Energy Services at SMA Solar Technology AG, have already confirmed their participation.

On Wednesday, Peter Zayer, Chairman of the Steering Committee for Metering and Metrology at the FNN, Paul-Vincent Abs, Managing Director of E. ON Metering GmbH and Peter Thiele, President Energy Solutions Europe at SHARP, and others will discuss the disruptive potential of smart metering systems.

Both panel discussions will start at 3 pm.

In addition to its solutions, Kiwigrid will also present the Smart Meter Gateway, which is being developed and certified together with devolo. Kiwigrid and devolo are the only SMGW vendors to equip the Smart Meter Gateway with an additional software stack that allows regulated and unregulated value-added services. "Our concept of implementing the Smart Meter Gateway as a value-added service platform has convinced our partners. Together with them, we aim to enable all solutions to run on the SMGW," says Tim Ulbricht.

The Kiwigrid stand is located in Hall 6 (Stand 6-320). The complete program of presentations can be found here.
