14 Kiwis, 70 kilometers in total and lots of best times

Nothing is more unifying than having a common goal, planning the way there as a team and crossing the finish line together at the end. For ten weeks, our Kiwis trained together with running coach Jan Riedel from Laufszene Sachsen and pushed each other to succeed. Last Wednesday, our runners got their well-deserved success: at the annual REWE Team Challenge, a lot of new personal best times were set!

The training has paid off: Our System Architect Manuel was almost 1.5 minutes faster this year than he was last year! Our Java developer Slawa, who joined Kiwigrid as the sixth employee back in 2012 reached the finish line in less than 20 minutes – a top athlete’s performance. Uta Horn from Product Management was one of the fastest three percent in the individual women's ranking with just over 23 minutes!

In addition to fast sprints, running ABC, longer runs and stretching, our Kiwis completed an additional varied full-body workout consisting of squats, push-ups, abdominal exercises and much more, thus working on their overall performance. Sebastian Gebhardt, Production Manager, improved his time by 58 seconds:

"The excellent training with our running coach helped me to improve my running time at the REWE Team Challenge. In addition, we learned a lot of things that we can incorporate into our general training."

Congratulations to all runners!

Developers, test engineers, product owners, lawyers – at Kiwigrid we all run together towards the goal. You want to be part of it? Then take a look at our careers page today!
