Technisat has over 30 years’ experience in consumer electronics. Originally making a name for itself with satellite reception technology, today it also sells and develops TVs, digital radios and other electronic lifestyle products. This year, you plan to enter the energy market. Why?
“The market for consumer electronics is changing rapidly. We have accompanied and shaped this market for more than 30 years. As a lifestyle electronics brand, our focus is on reception and connection and our vision is to connect all aspects of the home. We pursue this goal in all our activities and adapt to constant change. We look to see which products suit our company and offer our customers the added value and quality they have come to expect from TechniSat. This gives us the opportunity to combine new offers with our existing product portfolio, and it is in this way that we have already become the market leader in the field of set-top boxes and DAB+ receivers.“

How does this work in reality?
“E-mobility is a good example. The charging technology can be integrated into the smart home. Our customers should be able to control their wallbox just like any other device centrally via our app. We also want to give specialist dealers, with whom we have been working very closely for many years, an opportunity to participate in this new market.“

Why now?
“We are certain that the future belongs to e-mobility. The technical prerequisites are in place so that we can offer our customers the high quality they are used to from us. At the same time, the political course has also been set and the automotive industry is developing attractive models. There are good vehicle concepts and the vehicles are slowly becoming suitable for the mass market in terms of price. Therefore, now is the right time to get started.“

Kiwi note

TechniSat is a good example of sector coupling. In recent years, we have observed that the energy market has gained many new participants. Car manufacturers, housing associations and others are keen to become part of the new energy market and many interesting use cases are emerging.
